Not saying “Thank You” cost Nordstom’s BIG money

This week the big news in Direct is that Nordstrom’s has had to cut it’s forcast because it cut it’s direct mail program. But the big takeaway isn’t that direct mail is awesome, though it is. The big takeaway is that saying “Thank you” to customers is one of the most powerful things a brand can do. I have posted several times about it, and I bug my clients about it, but somehow it never gets love in the budget.

Make this year the year you send a “Thank You” note to your customers along with a gift. Free shipping on your next purchase, $10 gift card, 20% off your next order, something that shows you care. Then track it and watch the love come back at you.

All the best,

Sarah Fletcher
